“The percentages of being swallowed alive by a whale are usually not zero.” That is the tagline from the film I have been giddy about since I first found its logline whereas writing our 2026 film preview.

As I wrote then, “OK. So of all of the movie film plotlines I’ve researched in scripting this listing, that is my favourite for the sheer WTF of all of it: Based mostly on the novel by Daniel Kraus, Whalefall facilities on a scuba diver (Austin Abrams) who’s looking for his father’s stays within the ocean when he’s swallowed by a sperm whale, giving him solely an hour to flee or die. See what I imply? If you wish to add Kraus’ novel to your library queue, be part of the membership.”

Now, twentieth Century Studios has given us the primary have a look at Whalefall. Directed by Brian Duffield (Spontaneous, No One will Save Us), this thriller had me at “swallowed by a whale.” I really like the ocean. I additionally concern it, some say as a result of I noticed Jaws too younger. After a lot watching of shark motion pictures, I did not know there may very well be new fears to unlock within the depths. However this trailer has achieved precisely that!

I am seated, in 4DX. How about you?
