Esteemed veteran emcee Homeboy Sandman is teaming up with producer Jack Splash for a complete album of vibrant hip-hop. No less than I assume it will likely be vibrant primarily based on the lead single.

Resonance Frequency, out on the finish of July, is preceded this week by “Twentyfourseven,” a tune that has me keen to listen to the remainder of the venture. Splash constructed the beat out of Steve Miller Band’s oft-sampled “Fly Like An Eagle” amongst different substances, splicing all of it right into a frenetic funk monitor that makes a improbable launchpad for Sandman’s bars. Although susceptible to being upstaged by all of the popping bass and blaring horns, he instructions the mic right here together with his typical understated grit.

A phrase from Sandman:

That is what Jack does. That is what I do. It’s not a passion, it’s not a job. It’s a life-style. Perpetual creation. It’s not one thing that’s solely taking place when any individual’s wanting. Resonance Frequency; Jack and I are placing out a sign. As soon as it reaches you each atom in your physique is gonna vibrate in another way.

Man’s not kidding. “Twentyfourseven” exudes a contagious power. Watch Artwork Morera’s video for the monitor under.
