When a bunch calling themselves the Womack Sisters announce a throwback soul album, the very first thing they should take care of is their legacy. Zeimani, Kucha, and BG Womack are the daughters of Linda and Cecil Womack, who made R&B information within the Eighties. Their grandfather (Linda’s dad) is Sam Cooke. And their uncle is Cecil’s older brother, R&B legend Bobby Womack.

In August, the trio will launch The Womack Sisters, their self-titled debut, on Daptone Information. Followers of the label will acknowledge the textured harmonies and classic preparations that run by “If I Let You,” the group’s newest single, out at this time (July 8). Starting with a driving organ, the bouncy soul-pop tune is a meditation on speeding into love.

“This track jogs my memory of a time after I rushed into love due to attraction: not asking sufficient questions, not staying true to myself, promoting myself brief,” Kucha Womack mentioned in a press release. “For us, it’s a reminder to take your time to search out love, and to search out out who you’re actually coping with.”
