Maika Monroe stars as Winifred Notty, “the sanest individual she’s ever met,” in Victorian Psycho, a bloody horror-comedy that’ll have you ever frankly scared of the Longlegs and 100 Nights of Hero star.
Described by Mashable leisure editor Kristy Puchko in her evaluation as “what if gothic horror had been an eat-the-rich comedy?” the movie follows the plot of a murderess governess (Monroe), appointed to show the spoiled kids of the aristocratic Kilos in late nineteenth century England.
Directed by Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary) with a screenplay by Virginia Feito (on whose 2025 novel the movie is predicated), Victorian Psycho has a superb and brutal trailer out at the moment, all scored to Die Spitz’s impeccable “Throw Your self to the Sword.”
The Kilos household — performed by Jason Isaacs, Ruth Wilson, Wednesday’s Evie Templeton, and Hamnet’s Jacobi Jupe — do not know what they’re in for with the arrival of Miss Notty. However the trailer provides us a horrible thought.
Victorian Psycho hits cinemas Sept. 25.
