Good morning, my buddies.
So far as my beliefs are involved, they replicate my unbiased, unconventional and spontaneous character.
I do not like to cover what I imagine, however to declare brazenly what’s in my soul, even when this generally makes me unpopular. Not wanting to suit into bins has value me many instances.
As will be seen from my musical expression, I’m in favor of unity, love, empathy and assist for each needy, wronged and struggling individual in life. Whoever they’re, no matter they imagine, whether or not they’re a saint or a sinner.
I’ve devoted my complete life to serving to my neighbor, and as a Priest for 31 years, I’ve not acquired even a hen coop. My solely property are my furnishings and my musical devices.
And I clarify:
1st. Relating to the consecration ceremony at an area workplace of Golden Daybreak
This occurred in 2013, when Golden Daybreak was represented within the Greek Parliament and was at the moment a authorized political celebration. After they requested my superior authority, the Metropolis, for the consecration to be carried out, as political events and municipal teams generally do, the Metropolis despatched me there on official responsibility. Throughout my years as a Priest, I’ve additionally attended different consecration ceremonies related with different political and municipal teams.
I’m towards Nationalism as a result of it has solely introduced blood and wars to humanity. The one ones who’ve pursuits in nationalism and borders are the weapons factories that unfold dying. Apart from, my grandparents from Crete fought Hitler and Nazism, so I comply with their spirit.
In truth, one cause I’ve eliminated the frets from my guitar is my psychological want to not be confined to borders.
2nd. On the difficulty of homosexuality
My view on homosexuality is identical as that of the Orthodox Church for 2000 years, nothing extra, nothing much less.
We owe gay individuals love and acceptance as a result of many have at instances skilled nice rejection from their setting, particularly from their households.
Over time, gay individuals have additionally come to me for confession, and I’ve all the time obtained them with acceptance and love.
I keep in mind as soon as a brother and a sister got here to confession. Each have been troubled and struggling, based on their understanding of their religion, with questions of repentance and sexuality. After the prayer I learn to them, I embraced the younger man, and I might see how relieved he was that somebody had made him really feel vital and accepted.
I additionally all the time respect the liberty of my fellow man. In any case, with freedom we sin and with freedom we repent. It’s higher to sin with freedom than to be virtuous with oppression.
These are my views as an individual and as a Priest, all the time expressed with love and delicacy in the direction of my fellow man.
Having clarified these issues, I’d now wish to return to the life and work which can be most pure to me.
I lengthy once more for peace, my hermitism, and to add my music with ardour and peace on my channel. I see and notice that my path and beliefs as an Orthodox Priest differ considerably from among the values and cultural positions represented inside modern experimental music festivals.
Thanks to your appreciation and respect.
Could you all the time be joyful and acquire Paradise.
